The medieval overdress was an indispensable part of women's fashion in the Middle Ages. Therefore, it also holds a important place in our reenactment collection.
In the early Middle Ages, the overdress primarily served practical purposes, mainly to protect against the harsh and often unfavorable weather. However, depending on the social status of the wearer, very elaborate decorative elements such as fibulae and brooches were also worn as adornments.
